Seafood Festival

Dear Pageant Contestants,

You are invited to participate in the Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival Queen’s pageant on Sunday, May 21, 2023, located at the Plaquemines Parish Multi Purpose Center, 333 F. Edward Hebert Blvd. Bldg 555, Belle Chasse, LA. The pageant is open to all young ladies who reside in Plaquemines Parish between the ages of 17-23.  The deadline to enter is May 17, 2023 by 6:00 pm.  Entry forms will NOT be accepted after this date and time.

As a contestant, you will be judged in the following areas:  Interview, Appearance, Personality and Beauty.  The attire for Interview should be an interview suit. Interviews will also be conducted at the Multi Purpose Center.  Once you have submitted your application, you will receive additional information in regards to interview.  The pageant will begin promptly at 2:00 pm.  Proper pageant attire (long dress) is required for the onstage portion of the competition.  Prepare a short self introduction/jingle inviting everyone to come out for the Seafood Festival.  You will only be judged on the presentation.  There will be an on-stage question only in the event of a tie. 

Admission will be $5.00 for everyone 12 and older. This event will be open to the public. 

If selected as the Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival Queen you will preside over the 2024 festival activities and have the opportunity to travel throughout the state of Louisiana as our ambassador promoting the Seafood Festival and industry.  The crown, scepter, trane and collar will be yours to wear during your reign until you crown your successor.  The monogrammed banners will be yours to keep.  You are asked to read and sign a contract and expected to attend a minimum of 15 pageants and/or festivals during your one-year reign, with local events being your priority. You will also be expected to participate in the Louisiana Association of Fairs & Festivals Convention (LAFF), in the LAFF Queen pageant.  The convention will be held February 22-25, 2024 in Baton Rouge.  The Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival will pay for your room and event registration fee.  Upon the completion of your year and fulfillment of your obligations, you will receive a minimum $500.00 cash scholarship.
